Review of: Aweber

Over the last couple of workweeks I have been reviewing opt-in mail service services. If you have been studying these so far, you would have discovered that they there is not a lot of diference between them. They are trustworthy, well the ones that I have reviewed are, they are rather cost-effective for the service they provide aswell.

So my review of Aweber:

Before I start this review I should tell to you why I am reviewing another company that performs the same as the others I reviewed VerticalResponse, GetResponse, well I was asked by a acquaintance of mine whether or not Aweber was a good thing or not? Well I couldn’t answer honestly to him as although I have only heard good reports about Aweber, I had not actually employed their services before, so I considered I would sign up for their services and give them a go. I setup two opt-in forms for Simon Weber, he has reported back to me that he has received more than a couple of hundred opt-ins, since the forms where put in his webpage and that is just under a week ago, not bad I thought.

So how was my first impressions of Aweber? Well I can say you after signing up, I was very happy with the swiftness in which my account was created, nearly instantaneous. I logged in setup a mailing list, which was very easy to do. Then wrote the response mail that is sent to confirm that the individual wishes to be appended to the list, what I notice here was their careful consideration of the CANN spam matters, they offer 4 or 5 personal email titles to pick out from to make sure you abide with the laws. I selected not to follow the regulations and was told they would respond within 24hrs to say whether or not it was acceptable, my new title was accepted within 2hrs, another bonus I thought. After that I went on to try my luck a bit more after all I knew that I would be publishing a review, so I went on making the the e-mail. Which I may add was a breeze, it was very easy to individualise the e-mail so the recipient would feel that it was sent from a actual person. Then I created the mail that is sent out when a user confirms their e-mail address, a walk in the park, I also had the opportunity to attach a file. As you may observe a lot of individuals offer a free .pdf for signing up to their mailing list, well this is how they achieve it, you just attach the file to the verification e-mail and directly your new subscriber has it sent to their e-mail box automatically. This is another feature that many another of the businesses offer these days.

Then I was presented with some options on how the form would be placed in the website, this was quite well done with some choices, I commonly choose either inline or pop up. Then I was set to place the form in the page, this was a very uncomplicated job with either a easy piece of JavaScript or html (for the more tech savvy users). I would like to add here that during the whole setup procedure there was a very handy bar at the bottom of the page, telling me what I need to do next and how far through the procedure I was. This for me was a convenient feature, as I previously said I had not used their service before and this made me more comfortable.

There are numerous more other choices available with every account, that I do not want to bore you with. The most-valuable one I would like to bring up though is the possibility of Global fields, in layman’s terms this enables you to change a certain field for all lists that you own, such as street address etc. Which I found most useful.

So to sum up I was happy with their service and price, the main thing that I was most happy with was their control panel, which alone for me has one me over. I would suggest that you should at least try a free test drive, I didn’t as I knew that Simon needed an opt-in list quickly, so I just took the bull by the horns and was happy to find that it wasn’t really a bull at all but more of a puppy..

So all in all I am very happy with Aweber as a service.
