Why do over 90% of individuals fail when putting together an affiliate marketing advertising program? Well generally people try strategies like Google AdWords for a week or two and then, when they don't see any immediate results, decide that it is all too difficult and give up.
Take a deep breath... There is no need to hurl your PC out the window in frustration. You just have to realize that things rarely happen overnight. In fact it will normally take a couple of months before some real results begin to happen. You just need to be patient because, regardless of what you have heard or read, successful Internet marketing and promotion takes work.
If you are like most of us we start off really excited about promoting our first product for sale on the Internet and cannot wait to get started. The product may be our own or an affiliate product (one we are selling on behalf of someone else for a commission)
The problem is we try to do it too fast. Let's take Google AdWords as an example. Sure we may get a flurry of initial interest but then the traffic either stops, the cost per click for our keyword goes up, or we get demoted or rejected by Google for a number of different reasons (also known as a Google Slap)
Have your bid prices on Google suddenly gone through the roof? Have your keywords been fixed to inactive for search? Are you having difficulty getting the results you ought to expect from the money you invest into Google traffic? If you are like thousands of other Internet marketers that have been slapped in the face by Google, you have a right to be upset. But it doesn't have to be that way; you can take steps to avoid a Google slap. If you notice your profits and traffic on a steady decline or are not getting any traffic at all, stop right now! You need to get educated.
Putting together a successful online marketing campaign and beating Google AdWords is not rocket science but you do need to get educated in what Google is looking for when it searches for relevant keywords and this is where getting a good education comes into play.
The 10% of individuals who are serious in relation to making money online allow themselves this option... they get educated first. Here are some of the techniques these individuals use and you should too:
1. Keyword Research: Finding the right keyword or group of keywords (also known as long-tail keywords) that people would normally type into a search engine when looking for a particular thing
2. Competition Analysis: Who and how many other people are bidding on that keyword? If there are hundreds of thousands or even millions of websites competing for the keyword then your chancing of breaking into that market just got much harder.
3. On and Off Page Optimization: Research your competitor's websites. Have they optimized there website completely or have they left openings where you can compete?
4. Find the Right Affiliate Product: Finding the right affiliate product to promote is half the battle. There are millions of products out there in cyber world that you can promote but the trick is finding the right product to promote. Is it in demand? Is it in a specialized niche with little competition?
5. Get Low Bid Prices: You need to know how to get $0.01 bid prices and induce traffic from Google for literally pennies.
6. Setting Up Your AdWords Account: You need to know exactly how Google wants you to set-up your AdWords account so that you can get the highest quality mark achievable.
Remember, Internet marketing is not a "Get Rich Quick" scheme; it takes applied skills over time. You just need to do your due diligence and find a good teacher. There are many resources out there that will teach you how to win in the Internet marketing game and make you money but you must get educated!
